Chance to Own A TraillWork, and Support DAG
Want to collect one of my remaining apron paintings AND support an amazing cause? "Bound Chopper" is currently available in an online auction to benefit the Durham Art Guild, one of the 5 oldest visual arts organizations in the country, established in 1948, and supports artists all over the Triangle.
Framed in an antiqued silver moulding (see exhibit photo above), and at 12" x 16", this oil on panel will work into almost any space. You can even swap out the frame for a more modern look. The painting depicts a vintage chopper seated on a red Cosco stool, bound in a blue striped taffeta apron. There's a nod to Renaissance portraiture in this piece, but painted in a highly expressive impasto style.
The Cosco stool is returning to my newer work, but found itself in many of my works in my early career. This painting is signed Schaeffer, my maiden name. My newer works after 2013 have been signed Traill (my middle name, and namesake of my studio, TraillWorks).
You can Bid through April 5th at 7pm, using the Durham Art Guild's online auction platform. Bidding starts at $200 for this piece.
