your passport into the studio, gallery and lesson space of artist, Jennie Traill Schaeffer

April 28, 2011

May is definitely for mothers, and as I look down at the list of artists exhibiting at TraillWorks, many, if not most, are mothers. Becoming a mom has changed me in many ways and has also altered the way I do business and spend my time, both at work and at home. While it's often exhausting, my son is my absolute joy and I look forward to sharing my Mother's Day with him, my mom, my mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, all great moms. So to whether you are looking for a special gift or something to do with Mom, TraillWorks has a lot of options to celebrate your mom. And, to all the moms out there, both artists and readers, you're AMAZING! I wish you the happiest Mother's Day.

Below is a small self portrait that Jennie has been working on in-between commissions. This is the first time she has attempted to paint herself since college and has found it to be quite the challenge! It has gone through many alterations, even since this photograph was taken. Stay tuned for all the images and a blog post from Jennie with the completed self portrait!
