TraillWorks E-Newsletter
November 25, 2009
Hi Friends,
Juggling motherhood, family, social life, and a business is not always easy, ok, never easy, but I often get into the rut of focusing on the stress in my life, rather than the gifts of every day. This year I stumbled into EllynAnne Geisel, curator and author of The Apron Chronicles. National Tie One on Day was Geisel's response to her observation that the day before Thanksgiving, was becoming more linked with stress than joy. I will be participating in National Tie One on Day today, but I am also making a concerted effort to focus on the accomplishments and the positives of each day and remember that everything will work out and get done. This day has been joyful and I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Warmly,

Buy Local this Holiday . . .

There's good reason.

When you support independent businesses, not only do you often get superior service, unique products or goods, but you also are aiding to their local economy. According to the 3/50 Project, for every $100 spent in independently owned businesses, $68 goes back into the economy. Only $48 goes back to the community if you shop big box stores.

Take a minute to think about where you will be making your holiday purchases this year and what effect your actions will mean to your community.
