Lessons

Summer Flex Lessons
TraillWorks is offering a variation on last summer's successful Flex-Schedule! The summer session will still offer the same individualized instruction TraillWorks is known for, with small classes and projects geared towards individual interests. This is also a great opportunity for high school students to jump-start or fine-tune their portfolios.
The summer session will be 8 weeks in length. Our flex schedule allows for vacation time during your busy summer. Choose at minimum, a single month  at $125 (does not need to be used consecutively), a single month with weekly sessions at $35 added on as your schedule permits, or purchase the full two months $220 (all 8 weeks). A registration fee applies to cover materials.
For more information about TraillWorks' summer flex lessons visit our lesson page or give us a call at 973-383-1307

Take your art outside and get some fresh air this summer. TraillWorks' own, Jennie Traill Schaeffer, will guide you throughout the summer in getting comfortable with painting en plein air. Using watercolor as the medium of focus, students will explore constructing paintings of landscapes on location. We'll explore both zooming in and out of the landscape; capturing details of nature and larger scenes or impressions. A list of painting spots will be handed out and determined for each week's session, the first starting at TraillWorks, painting on Spring Street.

Class Fees:
8 Weeks - $275
4 Flex Weeks - $175
Additional Flex Weeks - $40

New Student Work
The students are a fountain of creativity and it shows in all the work they do. They have so much creativity in fact that we have a hard time keeping up with sharing all of it with you. Below is a recent illustration of our studio mascot, Harry, the duck by Levi Burnell.

St. Joseph's Mural Commission Progress

The mural for St. Joseph's Regional School continues full steam ahead! In the past few weeks Jennie has made leaps and bounds, despite the heat, with the progression of the mural. Jennie is also happy to announce that the time with the scaffolding is nearly complete. A majority of the work that required the scaffolding is nearly done and all that is left is ground work.
To watch the project unfold, or fill in, visit our Facebook page. Jennie frequently posts updates as she's painting.

Two New Interns

TraillWorks is proud to welcome two new summer nterns to the team - Shannon Bentley(left) and Sarah Cannavale right).

Shannon Bentley, a resident of Newton, comes to TraillWorks  via the Youth Connections Program of Project Self-Sufficiency. Recently attaining her GED, Shannon is starting school at Dover Business School working towards a medical technology degree and hopes to then attend art school in the future. During her internship, Shannon will assist Jennie with mural work and also implement an improved inventory system for Jennie's artwork.

Sarah Cannavale is a resident of Branchville NJ and a senior at Drew University in a Madison NJ where she majors in Art History with a minor in Anthropology.
