Dear ,
Tony Lordi was a mentor to me when I lived in
Newton. He was a gifted, energetic, and intelligent artist who had a knack for combining unrelated, seemingly unimportant objects. After he passed away in 2010, I wrote a blog about our relationship. That blog post still generates communication from people who have purchased his work.
Just a few weeks ago a collector, Roman Shapiro, contacted me
through that post, looking to sell some of Tony's sculptures. He's leaving NJ in a couple of months, won't have room for them anymore, and wants them to find a good home. He's motivated to sell for the right price and I've agreed to help him (even though I would buy
them all if I could).
Roman has seven of Tony's sculptures awaiting new owners, including one of his well-known "Empires," a sculptural homage to the iconic NY building. You can contact me with questions, but Roman will be arranging visits to the work and handling sales directly.
They are really nifty pieces, and Tony was a remarkable person. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please forward the email or reach out to me.
