Fall Art Lessons Enrolling in a New Space!

Jennie Traill Schaeffer: Teaching Artist
Dear ,

I went on a hike with Auggie last week and noticed a couple of red leaves on the forest floor. Yikes! I can't believe it's already almost the end of summer break. We finally are headed away on Tuesday for our last hoorah, on a long-awaited family trip to Utah and Wyoming.

But, before I leave, I wanted to notify you of new changes for TraillWorks' art lessons. Over the summer I've developed a shift for TraillWorks, one that I'm very excited about and I hope you will be, too. I'm pleased to formally announce that I will be moving my art lessons out of my home, into a studio in Maplewood.

There are several reasons for this shift including running out of space in my own studio, wanting to make more of a distinction between my professional and personal life, and offering a larger space to teach and create in that accommodates a few more students, allows for exhibition opportunities, collaboration with other teachers, etc.

This will be a shift for many and I hope that it is one which you will continue joining me for. I know that with growth comes adjustments and some growing pains. Please be in touch and let me know any questions or concerns you may have.

I will be out west as of Tuesday and will have limited email, texting and phone time. If you have questions, please send them and I will reply as soon as I'm able.

In the meantime, read on below to learn about the location, early registration discounts, and class schedules.

Creatively,

With the shift to a larger space, I've simplified my class offerings to four classes during the week: two adult watercolor classes, one tween after school class and one teen class on Saturdays. I've also edited my web site to more clearly convey information about art lessons. Learn more.

FAQs:
  1. Where is the studio?
    1.  Oh! Canary Studio located at 513 Valley Street, Maplewood.
  2. How many students will the new space allow?
    1. I'm aiming to accommodate 4 - 9 students.
  3. Will you still be running the class the same way, with kids working on different projects?
    1. Yes. I have taught most recently 8 students under this structure.
  4. How are makeups handled?
    1. Students are expected to attend for the time paid for. When you enroll for art lessons, your spot is being reserved for you, and your rates are reduced if you are purchasing lessons over a longer period of time.
    2. If something comes up in your schedule, you can arrange for a makeup if there is space in an existing class. This is not a guarantee. Extra classes will not be created for makeups. If class is canceled due to weather or my own absence, I will add on a class.
    3. If you know you have conflicts with dates in advance, you always have the option of purchasing a smaller package (a 4 or 8 week package and add on drop-in classes).
