I missed my goal of an October newsletter, but that's ok. I have so many good things
to share, that it's worth waiting until the calendar flipped to November. With all that good stuff, comes lots of work that kept me from thanking all of the amazing people who stopped by the Maplewood Art Walk in September. I was touched by the friends, collectors, fellow artists and students who stopped by to see my new work. Some of you purchased - thank you!
This is getting to be a very busy time of year - between politics, holidays, changing daylight and, in my family, many birthdays. EEK - my oldest turns double digits next week! We are in the midst of gearing up for birthday celebrations. In all of this, my art-making has been an integral part of keeping me balanced and clear-headed, in addition to the
meditation practice I've started. I've also been getting back to running, taking a weekly meditation class, and trying to focus on one task at a time. Some days it works, and well, others, you know.
I'm hopeful for the development of my art, a season of celebrations, peppered with self
care and mindfulness. There's an upcoming workshop I'm hosting that will help you achieve some mindfulness through making and giving. More info is at the end of the newsletter.

overwhelming response to my call for help setting up - about ten people or more got in touch with me to either help or hope that I found someone. As you can see, the tent stood as well as the art and my helper got a print to take home!

Bowtie and Cold Season. All but Wild Sweet Cairn (6" x 6" on linen wrapped wood panel) are 5" x 7" painted on Strathmore CP 500 Series Watercolor Paper, mounted on cradled wood panels. Each panel is wired for hanging and the edges are treated with finishing paste for protection. Framing is available - a limited inventory is kept in the studio, depending on stock. See the options below.
Currently these are being offered through SOMA General Store. I do have more pieces in the studio, but they are either awaiting news of acceptance into a show or still in progress. Please ask me about other pieces - I'm happy to share. Framed TeaScapes - this solid maple floater frame creates a more substantial artwork and
works great in both modern and traditional homes. (Seen here on my foyer wall, which happens to be a center hall colonial.) $275 each, tax / shipping additional.
UnFramed TeaScapes - this is an easy, contemporary look that

Etegami Workshop - week of November 26th. A date will be finalized this week with more details hammered out. Etegami is the Japanese tradition of creating postcard art that combines images with text and embraces clumsiness. This is for
anyone (beginners to advanced students) giving you the opportunity to paint a postcard that might be used as a holiday card or just to send someone you care about a special note. Plus, a portion of the proceeds will go to a charitable cause in honor of Giving Tuesday. Have questions or want to get on a wait-list? Contact me. Class will be limited to 12 students.
