Dear ,
I told you so much was happening this September! Last weekend was a blast drawing, petting dogs, getting barraged with puppy kisses. If you missed it, there is an opportunity below for me to draw your pup.
This weekend art will be all over the village of Maplewood, NJ. You'll be able to catch my work at the art walk, as well as at another business in Maplewood.
And, classes are in full swing next week. Both of my classes are running at the VACNJ (still spots in Thursdays class), and my Tuesday class at A Sip of Art needs some additional students. Read more below.
Whatever you are doing, enjoy your weekend and I hope you find some way of fitting art into your life.
Mini Dog Portraits - Not So Small
|
Sookie, a lovable Coonhound, above drawn in my studio. Below shown in her mat, ready for framing.
Me drawing Loki, an adorable little Shih-poo.
At 5" x 7" these portraits fit anywhere, and despite their mini size, they make a BIG impact and a great way to honor your pet, or a loved one's pet. What about a gift?
All minis are drawn in charcoal or pencil on Canson cream paper, matted in an ivory archival double mat, sized for an 8" x 10" readymade frame of your choice. Your dog need not be present - just a photo emailed to me.
I was fortunate to earn 4 commissions at the West Orange Farmer's Market. Two were done live, two were done in my studio (including this one). Once I reach 10 portraits (I'm at 4 now) I will donate 10% of my profits to the West Orange Animal Welfare League. Thank you to those new customers who honored me with the job of drawing your pups.
Special thanks to my helper who kept two of the dogs engaged with treats and me fed with delicious food from the West Orange. Farmer's Market.
Watercolor and More Wants You!

Color Meditation during our first Watercolor and More.
Space is still available in Tuesday's Watercolor and More class now being offered at A Sip of Art located in the Whole Foods Shopping Center in West Orange, NJ. It's a beautiful space with lots of
light and room to spread out. I'm excited to see how this change of venue will encourage creative growth with you.
This class is perfect for students looking to delve into watercolor as well as develop a creative path for their work. Beginners are welcome. The class is intimate in size and works with individuals on personal intentions and directions.
If you click through to A Sip of Art - she is offering a discount for students who find my class through her site.
There are 4 and 8 week package options remaining (the 4 and 8 offer flex scheduling). No class on 10/1 or 10/8.
Maplewood Art Walk - Sunday
|
SUNDAY, September 22nd, 11 - 5pm find me at a booth with friend and artist, Jen Rondeau of Stitch, Please at the Maplewood Art & Music Walk located in the village of Maplewood,
NJ.
Not only are we good friends, neighbors, and artists, we've been partnering a lot to do some local shows. Her works (fine art embroidery) are delightfully brilliant, incredibly complex, and small, making it easy to work into any wall space. But, I understand she's been expanding her dimensions - so look out! You'll have to come see in person.
The works I'll be showing include a selection of my TeaScapes, never before seen in real life Garden Watercolors, and some larger watercolors that won't be framed because I ran out of time! But, they will be there for purchase unframed. I'll also have note cards, prints, yoga mats,
and samples of my commissions.
If you're on Facebook you can find us having a little fun, getting ready for the show. You're definitely going to enjoy a stop in our booth.
FIND US: Booth B7, Highland Place, in front of Luna Stella. see below. Click on the map for directions.
