The Kitchen Gods - Return to Maplewood
I've been many times blessed to have a relationship with the General Store Cooperative. Before they were a thing, I was teaching classes out of a co-working space, called Work & Place, the umbrella organization. Soon after the ladies of Work & Play, owner Deb Engel, and Manager, Amy Howlett, had
an idea to bring together local makers and vendors into an Etsy-like general store online. A few years later, they have soft-opened an in real life brick and mortar shop called General Store Cooperative. Can I tell you how awesome it is? I'm going
to.
There is the Good Bottle Refill shop, where you can come by with empty containers and fill up on soaps, shampoos, detergents, etc. - minimizing plastic waste. Kitchen a la Mode - where I sell my note cards - and Sadies Boutique has a satellite shop within. Love where you Live by Mrs. Meshugga,
who is a former student of mine and calligrapher, offers signage and tees with all things SOMA, The Maplewood Wheelhouse (cheese shop), and Three Daughters Baking, Co (with whom I've partnered on Wedding Cake Portraits) is opening a permanent bakery within. There is going to be a cafe offering both coffee and kombucha. There are other vendors with very special finds within - including some of my yoga mats. If you're local to the area, or if you're driving through - you really must stop.
OH, and my ART! They've invited me to exhibit my work in their cafe gallery thru December. And, they're hosting an opening for me on Saturday, December 14th from 2 - 5pm. Amy Howlett, manager, wrote on their Instagram, "The works are so
stunningly gorgeous that the strong feminist undercurrent can sometimes go unnoticed."
Location: General Store Cooperative
OPENING: 12/14 - 2 - 5pm
EXHIBIT RUNS: thru December

Where Art and Mindfulness Meet
Have you explored the MindArt Gallery, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, click on my artwork, "A Seat by the Firehole". The more clicks my image gets, the higher the likelihood that it will be selected for a show in Amsterdam. While you're on the site, there are lots of great blog posts about neuroscience, mindfulness, and psychology. Just a few more days to click through.

Catch me Sunday, November 17th, from 9 - 1pm at West Orange's own yoga studio - The Yoga Ground. They're hosting me for a one day trunk show. I'll have yoga mats, some original TeaScapes, and note cards available to show you in real life!
Plus - I'm donating 10% of sales tomorrow to the Mental Health Association of Essex & Morris. They've even given me some freebies to help remind you of the importance of taking care of your mental health and info about their programs.
You can take a class, or you can drop in anytime while I'm there - the classroom is closed off from the reception area so you won't disturb anyone. Parking is available in the Abe Lando Lot located behind their
building and can be accessed from Washington Street (84 Washington), Main Street (273 Main), and Kling Street (23 Kling).
