Dear ,
Â
This past year has been one to remember - and by that, I mean - one that was so trying, so physically and emotionally taxing, that it WILL be remembered. Sometimes we are suggested to put difficulties behind us and move onto the positive - look on the bright side so to speak. But, while I was sitting in the difficulty of this year - immense growth and connections happened. It truly is a year that MUST
be remembered. While some of it is my story to tell, not all is, the reason for my lack of details.Â
Â
In my personal struggles - some of which included immense anxiety - I found meditation, increased exercise, therapy, and through that work an opening towards increased artwork productivity, shifts in the direction of my art and changes in my business focus. All of this has allowed me to provide you with new artwork to collect, new places to learn with me, and new stories for me to
tell.Â
Â
You may view the painting above as a pie plate mostly empty, but I on the other hand see it as the signs that it has been savored, and enjoyed. Just prior to painting my first Wedding Cake Portraits, I developed a small series of portraits of my wedding cake - some which were depicted on the day of the wedding, while others were painted a year later - after the marriage had begun to settle and reality
hit. That's the above - the reality of life and art - imperfect but immensely satisfying and at times incredibly ugly. Coincidentally, next week marks my 15th anniversary to my husband.Â
Â
What I leave you with is this: thank you from the bottom of my heart for continuing to follow me, collect my work, learn from me. If you just found me - I hope this is the start of a longterm relationship. I wish you and your family, friends, and whomever you spend your Thanksgiving with, a very happy one.Â
Â
With gratitude,
Â
