Hi there , It seems fall has overtaken North Carolina like a blanket overnight. Just two weeks ago, in my first in-person workshop at the Eno River, the leaves were just starting
to change. Now, as I find myself going to high school football and little league baseball games, and preparing for my next workshop, the leaves are in full transition, and I might just have to break out a sweater at night. Thankfully the daytime is still delightfully comfortable and hopefully will be just right to experience watercolor painting at the Eno River with Art for All
on October 14th. And, while I am just emerging from what seems like a two year hibernation, I'm in a place where I've decided to ask for your support. I'm finding myself at a crossroads as an artist. I'm seeing possibilities open up. I've decided to ask for your
support in the way of a membership to my newsletter. All of my writing on social media, my blog, and here in my newsletter are a labor of love, to serve you, and share more about what I'm doing, thinking and offering. It's all done for free. And, if I don't ask, I'll never know how you want to support my creative work. Now's your opportunity! IF you are BOTH in a position of
finding value from this publication, AND financially able to make a contribution to support the coverage of my time and costs, all you need to do is visit my new landing page with membership options. I've outline several exciting new benefits to each tier of membership. Of course, purchasing art is also always a way
to support me. But, don't worry, if you're not interested or can't purchase a membership right now, nothing will change. You will continue getting my newsletter if you take no action. It's ok - I understand.
And, don't forget to scroll down ⬇️ - I've got info about my upcoming workshop and a link to a recent blog post about my September Artist Residency. Creatively,
Workshop 10/14 Enrolling Now
With minimal supplies and plenty of tips and techniques, I will guide you through the process of painting from life. You'll have plenty of time to paint and witness demos, which will help build your confidence
when it comes to being in nature. This experience may even change the way you perceive nature forever, or reinforce your love. This will require sturdy shoes and walking some ways from your car to the river, down a hilly trail or steps, with your supplies. I'm teaching this workshop through Art for All, a non-profit based in Raleigh aiming to expand art education opportunities through a pay-what-you-can model. SUGGESTED DONATION $45 - pay-what-you-can model DEADLINE to ENROLL - 10/13, rain date 10/21 Supplies listed on Sign Up
I just taught a workshop two weeks ago at another location on the Eno River. Thus far this is the
feedback I've gotten: "Jennie, you've got me thinking about watercolor scapes! Now I want to paint this one..." - Monica "It was just right." - Elaine One criticism was asking for more painting time - yes I hear you! Join me for more workshops or classes! Two hours is a lot and a little at the same time. I'd love to find ways to connect longer. Stay tuned.

September Artist Residency Recap
References and Watercolor Sketches for my new works
September is a very full month if you're a parent with kids on a traditional school year calendar. This September was especially full, given two new schools for my 5th and 9th grade sons. As an artist mother, I was embarking on the decision whether to participate in the Thrive Together Network's bi-annual virtual artist residency, I was fearful it would be too much.
