Hi there , It's been a month since my last note to you and so much has filled my time! I have lots to share - new work, some exciting May shows, and I'm gearing up for a summer filled of teaching art. Mother's Day is around the corner, I know, I can't believe it! If you haven't thought of mom yet, I have many finished
works of art available in my online shop, AND I'm booking custom dog portraits for your beloved dog moms. In the meantime, read more below about two exhibits, new work developing, and works added to my site. I'm going to be revamping my site soon, but in the meantime I've made some updates. Check out some new photos and new work added. Please note, because I'm showing a lot of work at various exhibits, my store page may read that the art is out of stock, BUT, there is always a link to the place where it is on exhibit. If you're interested in something, but out of the area, please know you can reach out to me and I'll
facilitate connecting you to a gallery or store. Creatively,

DOG PORTRAITS FOR MOTHER'S DAY

drawing in a double window mat, sized for 8" x 10" frame, $115 Paintings start at $250 for a 5" x 5"
Gingered Crooked Creek, 5" x 7" Mixed Media, currently unmounted $275, option to mount
A transitionary piece between my TeaScapes and Take a Seat, this work explores the Crooked Creek in my neighborhood; a respite with my kids and my dog, when I need
access to water, it's a half mile walk. This piece also explores the addition of absorbent ground, which changes the surface of the paper, evening out the image transfer to the surface. Waterways in NC often take a muddy, green tone, quite different than my memories of the deeper, cooler bodies of water of the northeast.
Orange Chair in the Midst of Loss, 5" x 7" Mixed Media, currently unmounted $275, option to mount
Part of my Take a Seat series, depicting chairs in isolation that invite you to sit. This idea of taking a seat is inspired by my meditation practice in
which teachers often use that phrase to transition into meditation. This piece is named for the Tazo Tea, Wild Sweet Orange that grounds the velvet chair, and also includes a mindfulness quote that reads: "Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow come and go like the wind. To be happy, rest like a giant tree in the midst of them all.” -Buddha
