Jennie Traill Schaeffer!
Now that Jennie has hired some help at Traillworks, she has been able to focus more on her painting, which has resulted in three new works! Below is an excerpt straight from Jennie herself...
"I've become very engaged in the
topic of the apron and have
been contemplating its role in my life as well as its resurgence in
popularity. The apron is a natural shift in focus for me considering my
interest in kitchen appliances and woman's roles. Since my husband's
grandmother passed away several years ago, I've been given numerous
aprons from my family and friends. It was only in 2008 when the apron
first entered into my work as a symbolic backdrop in one of my "maesta"
pieces. Now it's taking up
more weight."
To read more about these works and the meaning behind them, you'll have to go right to the source...

New Artist David Ohlerking comes to Traillworks...
Come down to Traillworks to view new artist, David Ohlerking's paintings of Newton. Every Thursday, you can find him painting 15 minute portraits in front of Cheddar Alley. His loose, gestural style gives his paintings a feeling reminisent of the 20th century Century Abstract Expressionists.
All three Paintings are currently being displayed unframed, while working on choosing the "right" frame for each piece. Why not come in and voice your opinion?
The painting below, "Romanesque Revival in Newton" has already sold, so hurry on over before the other two are scooped up!

Corrie Guddemi hired at Traillworks...
I am very pleased to be working here at Traillworks. It was a pleasant surprise to find a fellow Syracuse alumni right here in Sussex County. Jennie's new gallery space is beautiful, and it shows how hard she has been working over the past few years. I hope my arrival brings her some much needed relief from all she has put on her table. I will be the new voice of this newsletter, so please let me know your thoughts, what you like/don't like, what you'd like to see more of, etc. as I want this to be as informative as possible. I have plans to begin working on a new series of paintings that will be representative of how I see Sussex County. Living in Wantage right next to a horse farm, and driving through all the natural beauty that surrounds me every day has brought new ideas that I have yet to put down on paper. So, keep your eyes out for some new works of art that may have the honor to hang alongside Jennie's paintings in Traillworks gallery! I look forward to all the exciting possibilities my new position here is sure to bring. I am here every Thursday and Saturday, so stop in and say hi, I look forward to meeting you all.
