Workshop Description: Grow your creativity with TraillWorks and join us for a "Handala" workshop instructed by Ron Hornung.
This workshop will take a more humble, light-hearted approach to constructing "universes". Suitable for every level of artistic ability, this workshop aims to help participants discover patterns, relationships and unforeseen meanings in their own mandalas created by hand-tracings, a "Handala". A mandala is a representation of the universe, chiefly characterized by a circular configuration of geometric shapes. Because of the sophisticated arrangement of elements, they are also useful in meditation. Using a traditional circular format, participants will use the shape of their hands to create an imaginative design on black paper with colored pencil. Each "Handala" will develop into a personalized piece of art. Through use of various shading techniques, line variation, and overlapping, artists will explore the use of positive and negative space. This calming journey will unfold throughout the day continuously revealing various layers of inner-thought and originality | |
